Q: Does our organisation qualify?

A: Yes – there is no limit as to the size or type of organisation who may apply for membership.

Q: How will achievement of NABWA benefit our organisation?

A:

  • Demonstrates commitment to anti-bullying in the workplace
  • Encourages confidential reporting of bullying, stress and harassment cases
  • Helps achieve an organisation’s aim of continual improvement
  • Provides easy access to competent advice
  • More appealing place to work for existing and new employees
  • Assists with compliance of the Equality Act 2010
  • Excellent defence tool for Employment Tribunal cases

Q: How long is the award valid for?

A: This will be reviewed on an annual basis to ensure that good standards are being maintained.

Q: We have multiple offices and sites, will we have to pay for multiple membership fees?

A: No – one membership fee per company is satisfactory. However, for you organisation to demonstrate excellence and control we would need to conduct audits on variety of sites and offices. You will however have to cover the costs of the audits on each individual site should you wish to pursue a silver, gold or platinum award.

Q: How long does the audit process take?

A: The first submission will be assessed and audited 72 hours from NABWA receiving this a report will be issued. Should you be invited to audit the duration would then depend on the size of the organisation; however, we endeavour to complete first initial audits within two days and annual surveillance audits in 1 day.

Q: We require advice on an incident regarding workplace bullying, harassment and stress. Can NABWA assist?

A: Because we aim to conduct assessments and audits independently and offer a complete independent approach we do not offer consultancy services directly. We do have associate organisations such as ACG Compliance, who offer consultancy services on the implementation of NABWA001.  NABWA however, offer training which we strongly recommend anyone who may be dealing with implementation or management of NABWA undertakes.

Q: We would like to register with NABWA but are not ready to achieve the award, is this possible?

A: Yes – you can simply apply to become a member of NABWA and be seen to be supporting the initiative. It is not a necessity to obtain an award.

Q: We disagree with the level of award given, can we appeal?

A: Yes – we would be happy to follow our appeals process and consult with the organisation regarding any disagreements.

Q: What type of policies would we be expected to have in place in order to achieve the award?

A: Examples include (but not limited to):

  • Bullying & Harassment Policy
  • Stress Management Policy
  • Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Policy
  • Equal Opportunities Procedure
